A Corsair kit from the HDD to the SSD easily

Corsair think have found the solution to help customers migrate from the plateau to the SSD hard drive simply.

The DSS can undoubtedly accelerate the performance of our computers. Whether in terms of startup time, application load heavy as famous processing software Adobe Photoshop photo or in the field of video game on PC, these new storage components offer a real advantage over the hard disks with conventional tops.

Even if these SSD cannot compete in terms of storage space to good old hard drives trays, especially because a price astronomical go for the SSD market, small models are ample case without too much ruin to speed up computers, including laptops, which are long towed to HDD anemic performance. Thi, Vice President of Corsair memory products indicates indeed that "often, customers who wish to pass on this type of disks are well aware of gain that they, but they are too complicated to migrate all of their old disk data to an SSD", so Corsair launches its new product called "kit to update SSD for laptop pc".

corsair-ssd-upgrade-kit-force3-001         corsair-ssd-upgrade-kit-force3-002

Based on Corsair Force 3 120 or 240 GB, this kit consists of one of these two disks, a CD-ROM containing software for very easily migrate data and a USB adapter cable to SATA. Thus, with the supplied software, it is possible to fully fill the hard drive of the notebook of origin to the DSS included in the kit by simply following the steps of the software. Then, simply disassemble the laptop, remove the HDD tray replace DSS.

corsair-ssd-upgrade-kit-force3-003.JPG

Corsair has already sent copies of its new kit to update to resellers from around the world, which will sell at a public price of €120 for the disk of 120 GB and €210 for the 240 GB drive that we tested. However, we nuancerons the advertised price because they do not appear to reflect the final in store prices. For example a Corsair Force 3 240 GB alone is in store at a price of €230 on average, we doubt that this kit which includes this SSD is less expensive than a single disk. Follow therefore.

Test : Corsair Vengeance 2000

Corsair enhances its recent range of microphones to a newcomer in 7.1, which has the particularity to work wireless. The spatialisé its free?

Corsair Vengeance 2000Corsair Vengeance 2000

For:
Very comfortable
Good spatialization
Autonomy

Against:
Support a long hair
Only USB
Cost a little wireless

Its simplistic remote control and its connections limited to USB, the Corsair Vengeance 1500 we had strong impression. Comfortable, the Corsair headset is perfectly cut for long gaming sessions, providing rendering its spatialisé 7.1 of quality and of addition of practical pilots to use. Filled with qualities, it is with pleasure that is again allowed this model to the drafting, but wireless version. Dubbed Corsair Vengeance 2000, this new helmet has the same benefits as the wired version. This is the case for the audio part, on which we we will expand here, since we already said what we on the test of the 1500 revenge. To summarize, the spatialization is good, especially from sources 5.1, convincing use of ProLogix II.

In game, it is happiness, as in dynamic scenes of cinema. Rendering is fairly neutral base, which is a good point for listening to music, but it tends to take a ride on the equalizer to add a little power to the bottom of the spectrum, because strangely for a headset-oriented game, revenge 2000 - as revenge 1500 - is a bit stingy in low.  Note that the microphone is also the same. It ranks along the left and one-way, it has a reducer of ambient noise that it minimizes perfectly by offering a rendering of the clear voice and breath.

This point fast completed on audio, let us to the construction of this helmet and its main novelty: the wireless. The model itself does not progress. There are two transducers of 50 mm mounted in large closed circum-aural headphones, providing a correct, but not enough insulation in noisy environment. The technical characteristics are identical (20 Hz - 20 KHz, 32 ohm), and found the same level of very good finish, except that the coating way alu brushed fact branches somewhat cheap. The headband is still as comfortable, while the bearings of the ears retain their finish Microfiber above mosses to memory of forms.

Corsair Vengeance 2000 (8).JPG Corsair Vengeance 2000 (6).JPG Corsair Vengeance 2000 (4).JPG Corsair Vengeance 2000 (10).JPG

Big changes are on the left earpiece, where is found a button on / off and a fairly well integrated sound adjustment wheel, and a mini-USB connector which is used to load the helmet. A load that may be long enough - until 2: 30, perhaps even a little more, on a standard USB - if it does the branch that one times the emitted signals (light recurrent beep and LED flashing red), indicating that it has started the last 10% of the battery. However, once the green flag and entirely responsible for battery announced 10 h autonomy is fully respected. Without using the microphone and still at a normal level of listening, we even regularly exceeded this time. Of course, if the energy, it is possible to continue to use the helmet, playing while he recharges (even extending load time), provided you have a USB cable range.

Corsair Vengeance 2000 - Dongle AdaptateurThe scope of the 2.4 GHz signal, it is given for 12 metres, this without taking into account possible disturbances and other walls. In practice, either 5 or 6 metres in an environment filled with waves and fields as may be a high-tech writing, no problems to report. However, the passage of a bearing wall thick enough is now much less well tolerated.  Home, installed in the couch at 3 metres of the television the headset connected to the media center, no problem to report and the presence of a much thinner wall is also no particular difficulty. At the time, a few centimetres of the dongle USB to the PC, everything works perfectly. Still happy!

Note that in the box of the helmet is provided a USB cable to recharge, and an extension cable USB about 1.5 metre to deport the dongle USB of emission of the signal (to avoid any disturbance on the back of the motherboard, near card WiFi for example).

Corsair Vengeance 2000 - Pilotes (1).PNG     Corsair Vengeance 2000 (2).JPG

In the end, from the time the sound aspect is well managed, where the design of the helmet and the modifications imposed by the passage in wireless were made with care, and where everything goes well with the use, there is no particular issue reserves. The only small caveats relating to dependence to the USB port (and the incompatibilities that this implies, helmets revenge was primarily designed for use on PC), and the small lack of bass that is corrected without evil with the equalizer. Therefore remains to see how Corsair is pay the comfort of wireless.

Without necessarily going to the least expensive, for revenge, 2000 price is set at €139, while the 1500 revenge is around €85 or even less. Head, it is approximately €55 difference, which seems us a little much to the comfort of the wireless, even if we know that the wireless headset are generally quite expensive. Especially since even invest such an amount, it will be perhaps better to move into an all-terrain model, that can be easily used with a television or a console game. But the Corsair Vengeance 2000 is a very good product, that is that best after a small drop in prize.

Air Series: customizable fans Corsair

Corsair launches a range of fans for all uses, whether it's to cool a box or a CPU radiator...

Corsair Air Series.jpg

Corsair presents in its Air Series two models themselves fans declined in several references. A Series Air including the promise is simple: provide reliable and silent fans through a system of hydraulic bearing and vibration-proof rubber fasteners. Fans who are also customizable, with rings of removable colors (red, blue and white).

The Air Series that inherit from the AF dénommination are those who propose the highest CFM, conceived to be installed without components within 3 cm of them. Three references are:

Corsair launches its Carbide 500R

The Californian manufacturer Corsair has officially launched its Carbide 500R housing.

500r-1

Corsair indicates that its Carbide 500R is now available, a month after the arrival of the 400R, and four months after the announcement of these two means-Tower enclosures. This "new" solution made of steel and plastic measuring 520 x 200 x 500 mm. It can accommodate an ATX or Micro-ATX motherboard, and any graphics card. Its facade shows four 5.25-inch bays, and a control panel with two ports USB 3.0, FireWire port, and a pair of 3.5 mm jacks. This 500R Carbide will support a maximum of six HDD/SSD 3.5 or 2.5-inch.

It supports a maximum of ten fans, and it is provided with three 120 mm (two front, one rear) and a 200 mm (on the right panel). This package is offered in two colours, all black, or black and white bi-ton. Corsair covers its novelty of a two year warranty. The Carbide 500R is marketed across the Atlantic to public price of $ 139 (€125 TTC). It is also available in Poland under the bar of €100.

SSD: Corsair reveals Force of 180 and 240 Go

The California manufacturer Corsair launches two new capabilities in its range of high-performance flash drives, the famous Force.

corsairforceseriesgt240gb01

Corsair now offers new capabilities for its Force GT and Force 3. 90, 60, 120 And 240 GB versions are thus joined by 180 and 480 GB models. The architecture of these DSS format 2.5 inches does not change. There the SandForce SF-2281 processor and memory flash MLC for the first synchronous, and asynchronous for the second.

Corsair always advance speeds sequential 555 MB/s read, for 525 MB/s write for its GT Force, and 550 - 520 MB/s for its Force 3. Maximum random performance are of 85,000 IOPS.

The Californian manufacturer provides his Force with an adapter 2.5 to 3.5 inches. These SSD displayed a 2 million hours MTBF and they are covered by a three year warranty. Corsair advance rates officials of $ 249 (€220 TTC) for his Force 3 180 GB, and $ 799 (€715 TTC) for 480 GB. The GT Force of 480 GB is available for $ 999 (€889 TTC).

A 180 GB in Corsair SSD

Corsair offers a new capability in its Force GT range: after 60, 90, 120 and 240 GB models here an SSD of... 180 GB. Based on a now classic controller, SF-2281 at SandForce, he uses - as the Vertex 3 of OCZ - synchronous IMFT memory in 25 nm, gage performance.

As often, it is only on compressible data which are given values: 555 MB/s read and 525 MB/s write. In fact, it is of course often below: the majority of large file transfers (where sequential flows have an interest) is based on already compressed files. At the level of random write performance, it is the classic 85,000 IOPS which is announced (the limit of the controller).

For the rest, nothing of much original: format 2.5-inch SATA 6 GB/s, a guarantee of 3 years. Rest the price: $380 to the United States, against $490 to 240 GB. In the end, a DSS interesting for those who need more than 120 GB but less than 240 GB. And that's it.

The Corsair Carbide 400R available at €89

The Californian manufacturer Corsair has officially launched its Carbide 400R.

Corsair had announced its Carbide 400R at the beginning of June. This new case is now officially launched, and it begins to appear in shops from €89. This award provides access to a tower of 520 x 200 x 500 mm, which can accommodate an ATX or Micro-ATX motherboard, and any graphics card. This steel chassis is fully painted in black. Its facade shows four 5.25-inch bays, and a control panel with two ports USB 3.0, FireWire port, and a couple of 3.5 mm jacks.

The 400R Carbide will support a maximum of six HDD/SSD 3.5 or 2.5-inch. It is provided with three 120 mm fans (two front, one rear). Corsair covers its last solution to a two year warranty. It now expected of his "big" brother, Carbide 500R.

Corsair Force 3 and Force GT Ssds now with 90 GB

By Frank Knopers, Friday 19-08-2011 14: 22 views: 1,453, source: Corsair, Corsair [1] [2]

Corsair now also has a 90 GB variant of its Force 3 and Force GT SSD to its range added. The company thus tries to persuade consumers to withdraw that the 60 GB version to something small, but not so much extra to pay for the 120 GB variants of both SSD 's. According to the specifications, these 90 GB models as fast as their ilk, which in the case of the GT Force the faster synchronous MLC flash memory is applied. In the Force 3 we find asynchronously MLC memory, as we also know of the OCZ Agility3 series SSD 's.

The new Force GT 90 GB gets on paper up to 555 MB/s read and 505 MB/sec when writing data. The Force 3 90 GB is marginally slower with respectively 550 and 500 MB/s read and write files. Both Ssds would, provided that the ' alignment ' of the file system is properly carried out, a maximum of 85,000 IOPS. The Force GT has a maximum power consumption of 2.5 watts, the Force 3 is what more economical with up to 2 Watts. Both SSDS have of course a SATA 6 Gbps connection and a 2.5 '' size casing. A 2.5 "to 3.5" adapter isby Corsair included.

At the time of this writing, there are already several webshops two 90 GB SSDs in their assortment. The Force Series 3 90 GB starts at about € 130, while the marginally faster and red colored Force GT variant minimum 160 € must muster.

Corsair brings 90 GB versions of Force 3 and Force GT Ssds on the market

Good Plan: the SSD Corsair Force 3 (SF-2200) 120 GB less than €160

It looks like you a promotion on a latest-generation SSD price? If yes it falls well, TopAchat site decided to make a promo on the 120 GB Corsair Force 3 .

For information, Force 3 is a recent SSD equipped with a SandForce SF-2200 controller and a SATA III 6 Gb/sconnections. This little bolide offers speeds ranging up to 550 MB/s read and up to 510Mo/s write.

TopAchat proposed at this time in €159,90 (instead of €189,90). What is a good deal since found everywhere on the net between €185 and €210. At this rate, you will have both high-performance SSD and of sufficient capacity to install the operating system and your favorite software.
