The Taiwanese manufacturer MX Tech presents new SSD available in SandForce SF-2281... Of any good on paper.
A few days after the announcement of its first SSD in SATA 6 Gb/s, Mach Xtreme Technology is back with a new model. MX - DS Fusion is however more economic than the MX - DS Turbo. The new solution of the Taiwanese manufacturer still operates a SandForce SF-2281 processor, but probably with less fast flash memory. It will be proposed as a first step in 60 GB and 120 GB capacities, and it is given the sequential flow rates of 530 and 540 MB/s read for 510 or 490 MB/s write.
The MX - DS Fusion would reach a maximum of 80,000 IOPS, but it obviously performance with uncompressible data that will make all the difference. This new 2.5-inch flash drive displays a 2 million hours MTBF, and it is guaranteed over two years.MX Tech offers its MX - DS Fusion at the respective recommended public price of €89 and €159. In the end, this SSD seems to be an acceptable compromise between price and performance (even if we would like to learn more about data rates in real conditions).
