OCZ has revealed two new lines of SSDS featuring SandForce SF-2200 processor and a SATA 6 GB/S interface.
OCZ Tuesday announced two new lines of DSS caterer for speed enthusiasts looking for the best value for the performance. Called agility 3 and 3 solid, the two new SSD lines use the same MLC NAND Flash while taking advantage of the processor of the SandForce SF-2200 and interface SATA 6 GB/S to provide a super-zippy read and write speeds.
"With the increase in the availability of platforms SATA III, the demand for the latest generation DSS increased quickly," said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ technology Group. "We discuss this application with new products that offer times better performance and value for consumers."
OCZ agility 3 comes in three capacities: 60 GB, 120 GB and 240 GB. Readers offer up to 525 MB/s read speeds in all areas, write speeds to 475 MB/s on the 60 GB version and write speeds reaching 500 MB/s on the models of 120 and 240 GB. The 60 GB and the functionality of disk 120 GB one random write 4 KB (aligned) to 50,000 IOPS and 240 GB performs slightly less than 45 000 IOPS.
OCZ Solid 3 comes in only two qualities: 60 GB and 120 GB. The performance of these drives are slightly lower than the agility 3 line, providing speeds of up to 500 MB/s read, write speeds up to 450 MB/s and random write 4 KB (alignment) of 20,000 IOPS. But, as the line 3 of agility, drives Solid 3 include form factor 2.5 inches, a time to look for 0 MS, RAID support, native support of pads and a 2 million hours MTBF.
According to the retailer, the Solid 3 60 and 120 GB discs cost around $152 and $267, respectively. Agility 3 60 GB, 120 and 240 GB drives cost $158, 268 and $509. Both solutions are backed up by a 3 year warranty for the ultimate client satisfaction and peace of mind, said OCZ.
