Windows 8 and minimum configuration

A Microsoft Executive refers to the minimum configuration to Windows 8 and promises that she will be identical to that of Windows 7, or even still more flexible.

With Windows 7, Microsoft had put a point of honor to not increase the minimum to be able to system configuration to run the OS properly. Obviously, with Windows 8, the conclusion is the same. Indeed, Tami Reller, Vice President of Windows division, discussed the topic at the Worldwide Developer Conference.

"In the two presentations of Windows 8 that we made, we discussed the fact to continue the important trend we launched with Windows 7, i.e. keep the necessary system resources on the same level or even reduce." "Windows 8 will be able to turn on a large number of machines because it will require the same minimum or even a smaller configuration" he explains.

And Tami Reller clarified: "we have also designed an intelligent system in Windows 8 to adjust the user experience depending on the hardware that runs the operating system." "So if you buy a new computer, or you change your configuration with new parts to make it faster, Windows 8 understands this and takes the best of this material".

A reminder, the minimum recommended for Windows 7 includes a processor at 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM (2 GB for the 64-bit version), 16 GB of space (20 GB for the 64-bit version) and a DirectX 9 compatible graphics controller. Windows 8, compatible with ARM chips, should therefore be efficient as well on the configurations stronger than on the shelves, less well from a technical point of view...
