Motorola launched its Pro Droid on 18 November last to the United States. This smartphone running on Google Android 2.2 aims especially the professional public, including BlackBerry lovers. It is about to land in France, at the public price of €299 (without subscription) in the SFR space. It measures 60 x 119 x 11.70 mm, weighs 134 g, and incorporates both a screen touch multi-gestes 3.1 inch HVGA (in 320 x 480 pixels) and a keyboard. At the heart of this smartphone will be a Texas Instruments OMAP 3620 running at 1 GHz, as well as 512 MB of RAM, and 8 GB of memory flash.
Motorola Pro has also a sensor of 5 megapixels with autofocus and dual led flash, and an aGPS. Its connectivity includes the 2.1 Bluetooth and WiFi 802 .11n ready, with the possibility to turn it into a hotspot. This new smartphone gets 1420 mAh battery and it offers also some functions focused on security, as the possibility to integrate a VPN, or delete the card remotely. It now remains to be seen if this solution will be able to make the hole in our country!
