AMD replaces its Komodo CPU by of Vishera

New leaks of roadmaps AMD place the output of the APU Trinity in the second quarter of next year and confirm rumours that spoke of the abandonment of processors Komodo of society (cf. "AMD would remove the Komodo planned for 2012"). They also speak of the output of two Llano released at the end of the year.

At the beginning of day, we reported the roadmap disclosed by the forum of 3D Center (cf. "Trinity soon and the APU of AMD Kaveri in 2013"). On these documents, AMD stated that the Trinity mass production would start in January 2012. We then thought to marketing for the first quarter of next year. Nevertheless, of new published roadmaps this time the site of DonanimHaber (page since removed) say that AMD is planning their marketing in the second quarter of next year. A reminder, these processors one after the other to the Llano and each Piledriver cores which are updates of Bulldozer.

The roadmap is also interesting because it shows that the account Green Giant out a new family of processors for desktop computer in the third quarter of 2012. Code-named Vishera, it represents a small evolution of the Zambezi, which is expected on October 12. Meanwhile, AMD will release processors FX-8170, 8150 and 8120. Initially, AMD had planned to release a version more muscular code-named Komodo, but technical problems have obliged him to lower his Piledriver core characteristics. It should therefore focus on the Vishera.

DonanimHaber also revealed that AMD will out of new Llano on the fourth of this year, including two models released multiplier factor. It's the A8-3870K (3 GHz, Radeon HD 6550D, 100 W) and the A6-3670K (2.7 GHz, Radeon HD 6530D, 100 W). Enthusiasts on a small budget can therefore play. We note in passing that AMD is the nomenclature of Intel and now uses the letter K to denote this type of chip.

Other models planned for the end of the year are the A8-3820 (2.8 GHz/2.5 GHz, Radeon HD 6550D, 65 W), A6-3620 (2.5 GHz / 2.2 GHz, Radeon HD 6530D, 65 W), the A4-3420 (2.8 GHz, Radeon HD 6410D, 65 W) and E2-3200 (2.4 GHz, Radeon HD 6370D, 65 W). Apart for the last two models that are of dual core, they take all four cores.

According to the roadmap, the A8-3800Llano, A6-3600 and the A4-3400 come end of life to the second quarter of 2012.

AMD Komodo processor 10 hearts and goodbye AM3 + in 2012

AMD_vision_logo

Bulldozer, that represents the new AMD processors and which will be equipped with eight hearts while retaining the AM3 socket, scheduled for the end of the year current may well have a short life span. Indeed AMD provides new processors for 2012.

Zol.com.cn site unveils a graphic of an AMD Roadmap on which can be seen that in 2012 the next processor platform Komodo, who will succeed Bulldozer, will be based on a new socket the FM2.After the FM1, which is the socket for the APUs midrange AMD Lliano, the FM2 would a socket for the mid-range and high-end brand processors.

Komodo would a CPU, it does Group therefore not a graphics chip in addition to the CPU part. It will consist of ten Piledriver hearts which are improved Bulldozer cores. The AMD Turbo Core will be version 3.0 known improvements to the Turbo Core 2.0 version that will equip the Bulldozer processors. The DDR3 support will always be the party and the new socket for Komodo will therefore be the FM2.Bad news with came it a new socket, but good news still, because in fact this new socket FM2 will also support future processors code-named Trinity midrange. Trinity processors will be of APUs they therefore consolidate on same chip, CPU and graphics part for Llano that they will therefore come to replace.Trinity will be Quad Piledriver or the same hearts équiperont Komodo. It will also support the AMD Turbo Core in version 3.0. The embedded GPU will be compatible DirectX 11 and memory type DDR3.

Finally, on the bottom of range, the roadmap informs us that the Brazos platform will be replaced by the Deccan platform. It has the particularity to include not just the part GPU and CPU on the same chip but also the functions of the South Bridge then appointed FCH. Architecture to appoint Wichita, it will be composed of Bobcat, the same hearts on the Brazos platform. Their numbers will pass two cores to four. The GPU portion will be always compatible DirectX 11, as the memory controller which will always be DDR3.
