Sony has just announced a Bluetooth keyboard for PlayStation 3 and - originality of the product - it integrates a pointing device. And Sony, instead of proposing a trackpad as in its old keyboards, joined a rare system: a trackpoint. This device used in the computers IBM (now Lenovo) over the years is quite rare now, but it has a (large) advantage: it is compact.
For those who don't know what a trackpoint, it is a kind of miniature joystick integrated in the keyboard and the pressure and tilt sensitive. The trackpoint requires generally a little training initially, unlike a trackpad which is more intuitive, but it is generally more efficient once mastered.
For the rest, the keyboard is quite classic: compact, it is Bluetooth (such as joysticks) and integrates the majority of the usual keys. He gave up, like many wireless keyboards, keypad and integrity - in addition to the trackpoint - button "PS" to turn on and turn off the console. CECH-ZKB1JP feeds with two AA batteries and will be offered at a price of 5,000 yen (about €42).
Note that as the PlayStation works with a standard interface for keyboards and mice, the Bluetooth HID, this keyboard should be compatible with computers and smartphones.
