They also offer protection against x-ray, shock and water, resistance to extreme temperatures, a system of correction (ECC) error and a write-protection switch. These memory cards should be in shops soon at rates not disclosed at this time.

Samsung produces fast ultra MicroSD cards

The Korean firm Samsung has launched the mass production of memory cards format microSD UHS - 1 ultra fast.

Samsung announced yesterday have launched the production of UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed-1) microSD memory cards offering high-speed access times. With a capacity of 16 GB, this new type of microSD is capable, according to tests carried out internally by Samsung, read data at speeds of up to 80 MB per second, or four times faster on average than the maps currently available microSD operating to 21 MB per second. However, no data on the write speed was provided, but hope that they also be very swift.

This new type of cards microSD UHS-1 is intended for new smartphones and tablets compatible with LTE networks / 4 G, with flows compounded the marketplace, will need memory to the access time to enjoy to the maximum available bandwidth, high-speed allowing read HD videos or play HD games, and this without unpleasant slowdowns.

This microSD is only available in version 16 GB initially at a rate and a commercialization date not specified. Samsung will be extended next year capacity cards.

Zalman launches in graphics cards

Zalman and AMD become partners. Maps charts of solid performance and impeccable cooling?

Zalman, known and recognized in the field of cooling, society continues to diversify. For example, we recently presented a new SSD disk proposed by the trade mark. And today, we learn that it starts in the race for graphics cards with three models based on AMD processor. This is in any case what think of our fellow Overclockers.ua site which gives the future map of the brand images.

Table, cards are therefore to base frequencies, step of Overclocking of plant, but it is very likely that cooling will be insured property and therefore it will be, a posteriori, possible to frequencies. Bet that Zalman has greatly improved the ventilation of these cards to present products with a strategic advantage over the range of prices which will be chosen. And availability, talking about cards launched tomorrow...

ASUS: three cards mothers Z68 with the PCIe 3.0

Three new motherboards Z68 came to be formalized by Asus: the P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3, P8Z68-V Pro/GEN3 and P8Z68-V/GEN3. Expected for the month of October, these three models compatible with future Ivy Bridge of Intel processors already support the PCI Express 3.0 with the presence of an Asmedia ASM1480 IC chip.

These three mainboards have therefore a floor of DIGI + VRM power 16-phase, two ports PCI-Express 3.0/2.0 16 x (configured in 8 x / 8 x CrossFireX or SLI), a third port PCI-Express 2.0 16 x (cable 4 x), four port USB 3.0, 12 USB 2.0 ports and a controller Bluetooth 2.1.  The number of connectors SATA 6 Gbps, 3 Gbps SATA and eSATA however varies with the model. The Deluxe model has two Gigabit Ethernet connectors but lacks video output, while versions Pro and V have a Ethernet Gigabit controller but have output VGA, DVI and HDMI.

Side tariff, the P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3, P8Z68-V Pro/GEN3 and P8Z68-V/GEN3 are displayed respectively 229 EUR, 185 euros and 159 euros (recommended public price).

A reader of USB 3.0 in Kingston and Transcend memory cards

Transcend and Kingston benefit from the return of good weather to simultaneously drive of the USB 3.0 standard memory cards. Practical, it should allow everything to everyone to quickly transfer its holiday photos of the memory to the PC card.

In Transcend, door drive RDF8name, it provides four ports: a CompactFlash (CF) compatible with UDMA CF cards, a port SDHC/SDXC which supports the new UHS-1, un smaller port standard adapted for M2/microSD cards and finally a last port for MS PRO/MSXC/MS DUO cards. The device measures 67.6 x 45 mm x 15.2 mm for a weight of about 32 grams. It was announced at the public price of €18,60 TTC.

On the side of Kingston, we are entitled to the RCF-HS3. The device is slightly larger than the Transcend product (it measures 93,17 x 52,68 x 16 mm). And supports memory cards CompactFlash (Type I and II), the Secure Digital (SD, SDHC, SDHC UHS - I, SDXC, SDXC UHS - I), the microSD / SDHC / SDXC and the Memory Stick (Pro, Duo, Pro Duo and M2). The RCF - HS3 of Kingston costs about €40 TTC.

The true cost of the graphics cards top of range

We test lot of graphics cards, but this time, we wanted a less conventional than usual approach and measure the power consumption of these devices between the time where we switch the computer, for example to read his mails or to play, and where we extinguish it.

It seemed in fact that extrapolations and estimates that everyone is usually at the start of the consumption minimum and maximum figures did not sufficiently reflect reality. Today, we therefore decided to measure the actual consumption of several graphics cards top range for a given period and different patterns of use, which seems more logical insofar as well rarely that a possessor of PC turns on his computer and start to play without ever nothing. Moreover, it is important to clearly define this "something else". As we proceed with longer tests that usually, we will take the opportunity to verify the consumption-induced by a series of software and services and compare it to the consumption at rest. Addition to the games in full screen and windowed modes, we will also analyse the influence of the video playback so that execution of D2D and D3D mode applications windowed. Our goal, of course, is to determine the actual consumption of our components, and not only consumption peak or at rest. This brings us to the heart of this article: of course, everyone knows that the most powerful graphics cards are expensive, but what the daily? Use really so much that it? A PC equipped with a high range 3D map and dedicated to the game really take influence on your electric bill at the end of the year? If Yes, how?Somehow, the tests that follow akin many mixed consumer testing that realize the automotive professionals. With the difference that we express our results in watts-hours rather than litres per 100 kilometres.

The next integrated graphics cards?

It is not only independent graphics cards in the world of personal computers, and that the future of integrated cards

Already nVidia will replace its MCP73 (GeForce 7150) by a MCP78.It will be compatible DirectX10 and support hybrid Sli (it allows to use its graphics integrated office automation and switch on the pci-express when needs are felt).
The rest will be classic, namely: two ports PCI-Express x 16, Serial - ATA 3 Gb/s...

Side at Amd, is RS790 will integrate interfaces DVI, VGA, HDMI and Compatible PCI-Express 2.0, it will manage a 16 port x, or two 8 x (as the MCP78) and it is intended for the AM3.

All of these integrated chips arrive early 2008 for nVidia and mid-2008 for Amd, we already know that this is will be not the wrath of war (view the hybrid sli for nVidia option), at the same time this is not what asked.
