Motorola Fire XT: basic smartphone

The US constructor Motorola has just officially announce a new enough conventional smartphone, the XT Fire.

Motorola still more expands its range of Android smartphones. The Fire XT is a solution of entry of 114 x 62 x 11,95 mm to 114 g. It has a touch screen of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. The new baby from the American manufacturer integrates a 800 MHz processor, with 512 MB of RAM. The storage is entrusted to a microSD slot. This smartphone connectivity includes the 3 G + (14.4 Mb/s in dual band,) but only in the quad-band EDGE and WiFi 802 .11n ready. The Fire XT has a 5-megapixel and VGA webcam sensor.

The last Motorola also integrates an aGPS module, a digital compass, light and proximity sensors, and finally a 1540 mAh battery. This last gives an autonomy of 8 hours in discussion, and 28 days on standby. Motorola provides its Fire XT with Google Android 2.3 and the wrapper motorcycle Switch. This smartphone is expected in autumn in Europe. We do know unfortunately not yet its public price advised. Hope that it is accessible.

A USB 3.0 basic in Kingmax

The Taiwanese manufacturer Kingmax comes to officially announce a new USB 3.0.

Kingmax just unveil his ED-01. This external storage solution 74.5 x 20 x 9 mm and weighs 10.5 g. The new key to the Taiwanese manufacturer has a refined design, with a black imitation leather texture. A small diode of activity will allow to keep an eye on the transfer of the data to and from the computer. ED-01 will be offered in capacities of 8, 16 and 32 GB.

It adopts a SuperSpeed USB interface and Kingmax advance sequential flow of 66 MB/s read for 41 MB/s write. This is hardly surprising given that this solution is based on a mono-puce controller with two channels. The ED-01 is covered by a 5 year warranty. Kingmax does not specify when and how its new key USB 3.0 will be available. These features are fairly basic, and it should remain relatively accessible.
