For users of a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 which want their arts in HD recording, the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition placed on the market. The HD PVR Gaming Edition comes with, according to the manufacturer, user-friendly software that allows gameplay in HD on a computer can be recorded and then can be directly uploaded to YouTube. This has a hardware device on high definition video encoder with support for multi-channel sound. The recordings are created in h.264 format.
The connection to the console and HDTV is created via supplied component cables. The HD PVR Gaming Edition features a so-called video pass-through, which while recording gameplay no delay occurs when gaming on an HDTV.
The HD PVR Gaming Edition from the end of August 2011 will be available for a suggested retail price of 200 Euro.
