Dual Intel Xeon E5 in a large package, the first configuration for Workstation is available for $ 2700!

The first to leave its configuration based on processor Intel Xeon E5 is AVADirect. If the announcement to CeBIT 2012 of Intel on the output of this range of processors for servers was expected, we did not expected to see configurations equipped with these new Xeon as quickly! This company, AVADirect, offers primarily all installed packages with a multitude of opportunities needs, target companies mainly.

Under Intel Xeon E5 therefore, we find four different configurations to the catalogue of this assembler. Three in the format Server 1U, 2U, and 4U which are built in part by SuperMicro and a Workstation equipped with a graphics card and a card NVIDIA Tesla for the computing. AVADirect servers can accommodate up to 512 GB of RAM, RAID and USB 3.0. The workstation can be configured to take two Intel Xeon E5, 256 GB of RAM and four in SLI or Crossfire graphics cards.

A Nokia under Windows 8 tablet for the end of the year?

The Finnish manufacturer Nokia would prepare a touch tablet of 10 "running Windows 8 and expected for the fourth quarter of 2012.

Nokia has time to meet with success in the market for smartphones and, through its 800 Lumia under Windows Phone 7 released late last year, is finally reached.

From the cache without Intel SSD, HighPoint pulls its expansion card

HighPoint proposes to add four SATA III ports and the technology of cache for €145 with its expansion RocketCache 3420 X 8 card.

HighPoint is now proposing to add the functionality of caching for the Intel TRS (Smart Response Technology). We remind that this technology allows to combine the performance of the SSD drives including their response time with the drives tray a little slower, but offering inaccessible storage spaces for flash drives. The map of the HighPoint in PCI-Express 2.0 x 8 thus add this feature normally reserved for equipped with Intel chipsets. Elecom unveils a new laser projection keyboard

Elecom Japan Society presents a new model of keyboard laser projection and wireless.

The TK-PBL042BK proposed by Elecom presents itself in the form of a small black monolith that can project, with a laser, a full keyboard.

Wireless Bluetooth or via USB cable, allowing charges its battery, this laser projection keyboard is recognized and natively supported by Android and iOS.

On PC, the TK-PBL042BK works with all compatible with standard HID drivers or USB Bluetooth dongle and will then be recognized as any classical keyboard.

Gigabyte passes to the chipset Intel Panther Point

A batch of 10 Gigabyte motherboards is unveiled and built around the new chipset Intel 7 series, Panther Point.

Gigabyte also passes to the Panther Point chipsets Intel series. ASUS presented to us in part its motherboards that will be equipped with these new chipsets compatible Ivy Bridge, but they are also compatible with the Sandy Bridge processors. Intense PC, a fanless minicomputer which has under the hood

CompuLab released a fanless SFF which is more powerful and richly with in connector.

CompuLab offers a PC small size (190 x 160 x 40 mm), devoid of fans so completely silent and yet very well equipped.

In the metal hull of the Intense PC took indeed place a motherboard with Intel HM65 Express chipset that can accommodate a processor Intel Core i7-2610UE or i3-2340UE with Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics chipset or even a 847E Intel Celeron or toddlers with graphic chipset Intel HD Graphics 2000.

 

The amount of RAM onboard can mount up to 16 GB of DDR3 - 1333, a 2.5 "location can accommodate hard disk or an SSD SATA 6 Gbps 3.0 format, two port e-SATA 2.0 3 Gbps and an mSATA are also available. Connectivity is very comprehensive as is found in the front four USB 2.0 ports and rear two ports USB 3.0, two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI 1 4 port, a DisplayPort, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, a RS232 port and making headphones and micro (chipset audio 7.1).

Web browsers arrive on Metro

Firefox and Chrome will arrive on the new interface Windows 8 Metro.

As we have seen in our preview, Metro of Windows 8 interface, only the House Internet Explorer browser is available. The installation of an alternative browser to add a shortcut on the Metro Desk, but is finally on the Desktop interface. Which may affect the user experience by switching to one graphical environment to another.

To avoid losing on this new version of Windows market share, must be that alternative browsers offer a consistent interface with this tile system and web navigation mode Metro style. The difficulty lies in the delivery of two different binary, just as at the time of the Mac PowerPC and x 86, because Microsoft will deliver its OS for processors x 86-based (until then no change) and under ARM, modify and compile the code for this literally different architecture. Although the Windows Market Place will simplify the task for users, because the version installed will always be good, the difficulty being here postponed on developers to provide both versions on the Market Place.

The first to have answered this is Firefox. The Mozilla Foundation which produces Firefox indicates work actively on its browser to provide a version with the colour of Metro in two possible declinations. Recently, Google also announced that its browser chromium will adopt its own tile. The web giant adds that the purpose is to propose a unified between the Desktop version and the Metro interface interface, a little to the image of Internet Explorer 10, but by adding better support of the touch that will be more used with this new version of Windows, according to Google.

We can ask what might look like this unified interface. The answer is in the application Chrome beta currently available on Google Play (fire Android Market). Navigation is also quite successful, while having the same graphic codes than its desktop version.
