From the cache without Intel SSD, HighPoint pulls its expansion card

HighPoint proposes to add four SATA III ports and the technology of cache for €145 with its expansion RocketCache 3420 X 8 card.

highpoint_rocketcache_3240x8_01HighPoint is now proposing to add the functionality of caching for the Intel TRS (Smart Response Technology). We remind that this technology allows to combine the performance of the SSD drives including their response time with the drives tray a little slower, but offering inaccessible storage spaces for flash drives. The map of the HighPoint in PCI-Express 2.0 x 8 thus add this feature normally reserved for equipped with Intel chipsets. Old configurations will appreciate the performance of this technology without too to ruin.

The card called RocketCache 3420 X 8 settled on a bus PCI-Express 2.0 x 8 free while being compatible with version 1.0 of the bus for the still older configurations. The controller to connect four drives SATA III 6 Gb/s of which it will be possible to choose the type of storage. Or, you install two hard drives with tops supported by two drives SSD for performance and security, or four for the high performance flash drives only.

HighPoint RocketCache 3420 X 8 is already available in the shops for a price around the €145. A good way to update an old configuration that does not have SATA III and the chip Intel compatible TRS.
