G-Technology G-RAID

Hitachi has announced, through its subsidiary G-Technology and in the wake of Seagate, a 4TB external storage solution. This G-DRIVE is likely to incorporate a hard disk with four trays of 1 TB. Its speed of rotation would be of 7200 revolutions per minute, which would guarantee a good level of performance. G Technology also launches a version of 8 To (with two HDD), named G-RAID (logically configured in RAID-0).

Both models have an aluminum shell, and a triple connectivity, with a 3 Gbps, a FireWire 800 port, eSATA port and a USB 2.0 port. It is unfortunately not known when and how much the Japanese manufacturer account propose these new solutions. G - Technology should also start in the fourth quarter G-RAID and G-DRIVE equipped with a Thunderbolt (10 Gb/s) interface.
