Strata and Nocti: of mSATA in OCZ SSDS

OCZ is preparing new series of flash drives. The Strata and Nocti are solutions to the mini-PCIe format. They are equipped with a 3 Gb/s microSATA interface and are designed around SandForce and Indilinx controllers. These solutions are 29,85 x 50.9 x 4.75 mm. The Strata architecture a Barefoot, and 30 or 60 GB of MLC flash memory. Displays sequential flow of 125 or 130 MB/s read, and 40 or 85 MB/s write. Random performance, are they of 11 or 12 000 IOPS in reading, and 750 or 1500 IOPS in writing.

The Nocti is for him based on a SF-2100, with 30, 60 or 120 GB memory flash MLC. Displays sequential respective speeds of 280 read, for 260 MB/s write (255 MB/s for the 30 GB). Random performance reach 11 500 IOPS (6000 IOPS for the 30 GB) in reading, and 32 000 IOPS write (12 500 IOPS for 30) and 60 GB. First European listings are rates located around €45-€60 for Strata and Nocti and 30 GB, €80 and €100 for the 60 GB versions, and €190 for the Nocti of 120 GB. It remains now to wait for the official launch of these micro-SSD.
