Google Drive would be well in preparation, the evidence in image?

An image seems to confirm the existence of Google Drive, a storage service online that the giant is preparing to launch very soon...

A few days ago we heard talk of the advance of the Google Drive project and some appeared to be that the launch of the giant online storage service could be very soon. A screenshot by Geekwire confirms that the project would be well advanced. Screen capture that was sent by a user of the services Google who found that Drive was strangely among services enabled in his account.

The interface looks clear and airy, with a layout that mirrors the broad lines of that adopted by Gmail or Google Docs since a few months. Note the presence of an option to install Drive, suggesting that a plugin for the browser or a small client will help manage files locally on the machine that you want to synchronize in the cloud, to the Dropbox.

It should be noted that the service would be free with a paid option for users wishing to host large files. The output may be involved in the coming weeks. And Yes, this image could also very well be a fake. So for now, it remains to the conditional and expected more from the mouth of Google...

A monitor "27 for about €230 in AOC

Presentation of a 27 "of entry-level monitor that will soon propose the mark AOC.

AOC 2752Vh

AOC has to add a new screen to its catalogue. It is a monitor of 27 "a definition Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels. The backlight is by white LEDs. The fact sheet suggests a time of grey to grey 2 ms response, of brightness that can reach 300 cd/m² and a dynamic contrast 20,000. 000: 1. Referenced as e2752Vh, this monitor has two 2.5 Watt speakers. Side connectors, should only rely on the presence of DVI and HDMI ports.

Very classical features, explaining a rather aggressive rate position. Indeed, this screen will be launched by AOC to the month of April for about $ 300, or about €230. It would be a little cheaper than the average price of the e2795Vh AOC, and about the starting price of the monitors of a diagonal of 27 "on our price comparator.

Cisco parasite the purchase of Skype by Microsoft

Cisco is concerned that once bought by Microsoft, Skype takes too much importance on the VoIP market, and this without complying with the standards in the industry.

The European Commission has approved the purchase of Skype by Microsoft, but Cisco does not refer it to this ear and announced yesterday that he appealed this decision. According to the telecom giant, Skype does not work with alternative video platforms that are industry standards. MessageNet, as Cisco VoIP services provider, joined him to regret the decision of the European Commission.

On Cisco blog, Vice President Martin De Beer explains the situation as he sees: "Imagine a world in which you would be limited in the calls that you spend, in which you could not join your loved ones if they are not in the same operator, or if they have not the same brand of phone (...)" Cisco wants to avoid video communications fall into such a State. "The video appeal should be as simple to switch to send an e-mail or to a classic call".

However, Cisco does not put in question the merits of the acquisition of Skype by Microsoft, merely intends to the European Commission imposed on Microsoft to standardized interoperability standards. Microsoft has provided for only one answer that the European Commission had already studied in depth the folder in an investigation procedure attended Cisco. American giant considers therefore that the Brussels decision should be maintained at the end of the appeal process.

Digital planning: the Senate says Yes to the very high speed for all

A bill passed by the Senate proposes to redefine the rules of digital planning. The text, which notes the ineffectiveness of the digital plan of the Government, wants to address.

Filed by Senators Hervé Maurey (centrist Union) and Philippe Leroy (UMP), the proposal to digital land planning legislation was adopted in the Senate yesterday following the vote of the left and centre, and this despite the failure of the Communists and of a majority of the elected UMP. This text provides a departmental digital development plan which includes means of modern communication (broadband, fibre optic and mobile) by making mandatory territorial guiding patterns of land-use planning. This is a redefinition of the criteria for coverage of 2 G and 3 G technologies in addressing the requirements of quality, a duty to cover the grey areas and the pooling of the high points for the installation of the 4 G antennas.

Also, by advocating the very high speed for all, this Bill promises to put an end to the absence of specific rules that leave all latitudes to the non-productive agreements. "We have a system that focuses on expressions of interest." Once an operator said its interest, it may associate with one of its competitors, decide on their side, this is similar to an agreement. Above all, it is subject to no constraints, no timetable. As the statements of the operators have no legal value, there is no sanction in case of non-compliance. "And during this time, local initiatives through the CSPs (public service delegations) are frozen" explains Philippe Leroy.

For Hervé Maurey, redefine the rules is essential while it considers the deployment plan of the fiber of the Government as a failure. According to him, taken branch will never achieve the objectives of fixed connections. What also points out Philippe Leroy by stating: "It is to apply rules in a system where there is not and to make compulsory patterns of land-use planning at the departmental level to achieve an objective coverage of households end 2025 all".

The FFT (French Federation of telecoms) denounced this text in fearing a global challenge to the financial and regulatory framework. France Telecom j. this dangerous proposal, then the Minister Eric Besson said: "You won't not the digital economy against the operators." "Your text is a gas plant". However, as rightly noted the preparation of ZDNet, it was not clear how the Government will keep its commitments to cover on the very high speed with the plan put in place, largely funded by the large loan. Our colleague is even a quick calculation to arrive at the conclusion that there is still EUR 660 million to find a year to develop this deployment. And as noted by Hervé Maurey, "the account isn't there".

A new GeForce GTX 560 to counter the Radeon HD 7770?

In the meantime Kepler, Nvidia would prepare a new variation of its GeForce 560 to counter the Radeon HD 7770 of rival AMD.

The new GPU Kepler of the mark to the Chameleon delay to the end of their transistors, and meanwhile AMD Struts with its graphics cards generation engraved 28 nm. NVIDIA have decided to get out a GeForce GTX 560 SE and to counter the recent Radeon HD 7770 on the segment of medium-of-range cards less than €150.

This "new" model, according to VR-Zone, would in fact be a GTX 560 castration, so based on the GF114 etched 40 nm and with 288 stream processors, 48 texturing units and 24 ROPs.

The GPU would be running at 776 Mhz, the shaders to 1552 Mhz and the GB memory GDDR5 at 952 Mhz on a 192-bit bus. These characteristics the are therefore more to a GTX 555 OEM and allow this card to replace the GTX 460 SE on the niche of the cards below €150.

The GTX 560 may quickly arrive on the market, but even if performance will be much it will hardly take the comparison at the level of consumption, subject very well learnt by AMD with its new GPU and the Radeon HD 7770.

Private data retention: Twitter does not play

Twitter takes advantage of the scan of contacts to download and store on its servers of its users address books, without being really clear on the approach.

twitter

Twitter is not accustomed to criticism about its management of private data, but the micro-blogging platform is now identified as a bad student. It is the storage on its servers of users of its mobile application alleged contact lists and address books.

First offending, the function "find friends" that allows users to download their address books to perform a search in the Twitter database to easily find their knowledge on the platform.

A crossing of data that the user provides access to Twitter to these lists that the service will retain for a period of 18 months on its servers. It is long and disturbing insofar as this is never explicitly explained by Twitter in the terms of its privacy policy. It is is in fact not indicated that the data will be downloaded and stored.

Twitter will benefit next updates of its application to inform more in details the users at this level, changing the reference "scan your contacts" by "Download contacts". However, nothing was as a possible shortening of the duration of data retention.

PCWorld.fr week update

Anidées, Hadopi, Ivy Bridge, LCD, DRAM, fracture digital, very high speed... Some of the key words of the week, for a news reviewed and corrected.

If for some holiday start, for others, it is time to make a point on the last week. We are not going to complain, we like it! Especially that there were things interesting to read on PCWorld.fr this week, such as testing versions MMO of very good devices of Corsair (M90 Vengeance and revenge K90 keyboard mouse), our review of the case of the new brand Anidées passage or the test of the Radeon HD 7770 and 7750, AMD graphics cards. Not to mention the SanDisk interview following the announcement of a DSS to the very interesting price/performance ratio on the paper. Tests that call others, because next week - except last minute change - we will propose you the tests of the 2 Xoom from Motorola, the GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2 GB Club 3D and the portable Samsung series 7 times, not to mention a broad account of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on a HP TouchPad Tablet experience.

Tests and news...

Side news, what does hold? Essentially, rumours and product announcements aside, a decade of significant titles. The video codec H.265 is revealed, The Pirate Bay that is an arm of honour at his critics by disseminating a copy of its site in a 90 MB file, while the Hadopi passes to justice the first records, Hadopi which cost 2.5 million euros to the ISP in 2011, while the State deigns compensate them. We also discussed the future of the Samsung LCD sector, largely deficit, and the likely closure of Elpida, Japanese giant of DRAM. It also learned that Intel would intend to push back deliveries of its Ivy Bridge processors after the month of June. Return to France where senators voted for a Bill to re-planning of the digital land-use planning, including in favour of very high speed for all. About Free Mobile, he always talk about. A meeting was organized with Orange about homelessness since the extremely rapid recruitment of Free Mobile (previously 1.5 million subscribers) is not without impact on the Orange network, which showed its limits in a serious incident.

Carton RougeRed card: Internet social & "unlimited"

It is not we who are distributing the cartons this week, but consumers association UFC - that choose that is place in arbitrator and we calls on two aberrations striking. The first concerns the social France Internet tariff, for the most precarious and sensible citizens reduce the digital divide. Or, €23 per month, the offer of Orange for the beneficiaries of the RSA is too expensive.

The definition of unlimited, is always quite different telephone operators of the dictionary. Whether they love power putting up their advertising posters of this concept, in the small lines, the unlimited is often limited (more or less strongly). We therefore support the UFC-Que choose who asked what things are clarified, that the unlimited become really, or at least that operators openly display restrictions they put in place, in order not to penalize those who will never read the very small lines of their contracts.
