Poor results for Nokia

The Finnish giant Nokia publishes very bad results and remains in a negative spiral. Before escape from its Windows Phone?

Nokia yesterday presented its results for the second quarter of 2011. The Finnish firm displays a turnover of 9,275 billion euros. This is a decrease of 7% over the past year, and 11% from the previous quarter.


The giant of Espoo has elapsed 88.5 million mobile phones, representing a decrease of 20% from the second quarter of 2010. It is however on the smartphones that figures are the worst, with a sequential decline of 31% and 34% from Q2 of last year.


Stephen Elop, President of Nokia, attempts to limit the case stating that the actions taken in this disastrous quarter began to have a positive impact "on the health of the company". We hope for the company that the launch of its first Windows Phone is more too-distant...
