Sony: new PSP and PS3 price drop


It yesterday evening that held the press conference of Sony in the opening of the GamesCom in Cologne in Germany. The Japanese manufacturer took the opportunity to announce its PS3 price drops, as well as a new PSP sold at the price floor of 99 euros.


The price of the PlayStation 3 is therefore to 249 euros for the 160 GB version, while the 320 GB version in 299 euros. It's the first true price drop console Sony show since the release of the PS3 Slim, lightened version, two years ago. Effective as of now, this reduction should allow Sony to its console, over 22 million copies in the European market more competitive.


Sony also took to announce, once more, a new PSP. This model adopts a design even more refined than previous versions. It still has a size disadvantage, since it will have WiFi and will thus deprived of the network game, but also any catalogue of downloadable games for Sony. Intended only for the European market, this entry-level PSP however has a weight argument: its price of only 99 euros, making it the cheapest portable console market. It should be available for this fall according to Sony.
