Huawei Ascend D quad: ARM K3V2 House and 64 bit processor

Long in the shadow of major brands and producer of mobile phones in white mark, the Chinese Huawei now wants to become a major player on smartphones. Already very powerful as a telecom equipment manufacturer, now seeks to become a key player on smart phones.


The family Ascend is spearheading its strategy and is used to demonstrate a know-how that might ultimately prove decisive. The Ascend P1range, presented at the the 2012 show in January, played on an extreme fineness of its design.


For the show MWC 2012, Huawei has created the surprise by revealing the smartphone Huawei Ascend D quad, not on the smartphone itself there was fuité a few days previously, but on the nature of its processor.


Huawei logoQuad ARM Cortex-A9, it is not a Tegra 3 processor as you might expect but a processor K3V2.. .de design Huawei! And is not everything because it would be based on a 64-bitarchitecture, while this evolution is generally not expected before a year at least.


This K3V2 processor is running at 1.2 to 1.5 GHz and operates a system of energy management providing a savings of 30%, ensuring autonomy of one to two days with a 1800 mAh battery, while offering 50% more performance over competitive solutions.

Smartphone Huawei Ascend D quad on-board display 4.5 "in resolution 1280 x 720 pixels and an AFN 8 megapixels on the back (capable of recording 1080p video), as well as a 1.3 megapixel front AFN, all managed by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.


With 8.9 mm thick, there is a model of finesse in its kind. Huawei will propose several declensions in the Ascend D range. Is described as a smartphone Ascend D quad XL battery 2500 mAh but which will impose 10.9 mm thick, and a model Ascend D1 dual core 1.5 GHz with 1670 mAh battery.


Huawei announces international availability of Ascend quad as early as the second quarter of 2012, and the launch of the D1 Ascend to the month of April.
