New OCZ Z-Drive R4 PCIe SSD achieves the Record

OCZ has defined a new 1 million 4 K write IOPS reference this week at the Computex.

Tuesday at the Computex, OCZ has alleged that he set a new benchmark for $ 4 K write IOPS 1 million and 1.5 million read IOPS with a server of single International equipped with a Z-Drive R4 88 3U Colfax.

Based on a Supermicro platform, this solution of specific server is considered the fastest on the market and this 7.2 storage TB of MLC. The PCIe-based SSD of the OCZ is a beast all by itself, packed with eight SF-2281 controllers in a RAID 0 configuration and mounted on a PCIe x 8 card. However, this particular demo used several Z - Drive R4 88 s to meet the IOPS folder.

"We have worked closely with OCZ to create a ready to deploy the solution with exceptional performance and reliability, all in an efficient footprint, compact and energy Server" said Gautam Shah, President and CEO of Colfax International. "Z - Drive PCIe SSDs to the OCZ add a great performance and we are thrilled to reach this significant reference of IOPS of write K 4, and this industry leading a total solution to our customers."

Alone, the Z - Drive R4 88 includes readings up to 2.9 GB/s and writing up to 2.7 GB/s. additional reports show that he would arrive in two flavors: the c series of capacitors of polymer for the protection of loss of power and less supply and r series which will be are equipped with the sudden loss of power protection and extra NAND set aside as a spare area.

"R4 Z-Drive enables data center customers to maximize the performance of the file size of the industry standard 4 K, and this achievement with Colfax International demonstrates the benefits of raw performance and reduction of the OCZ PCIe SSDs latency time able to provide over device multi-terabyte densities in a single 3U Server"said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ Technology Group. "We are proud to enable our customers to provide servers and storage arrays that offer the highest performance, capacity maximum and available in most low-latency data centers today."

OCZ stated that server demoed during the show will be available for pre-order from Colfax International in several configurations built at the request and that he will be delivered in the coming weeks after the Computex event.
