Samsung still not interested in Research in Motion

In the context of war, mobile platforms that draws perhaps equilibria and beneficiaries of tomorrow, Research in Motion (RIM), maker of BlackBerry smartphones and publisher of the eponymous mobile OS, can be a prey while the company saw its valorisation melt like snow in the Sun in 2011.

If it displays a certain firmness regarding its strategy by building large on the next evolution of the platform, namely BlackBerry 10, its fragility can attract a large group willing to invite or to strengthen in the mobile space.

And as was the case for WebOS, the rumor found his nominee with the Korean group Samsung. A rumor of redemption party site Boy Genius Report has been pumped up first place momentarily RIM, investors expecting an initiative in this sense... quickly contradicted by Asian manufacturer who indicated want focus to a redemption or making BlackBerry OS license, another source of speculation.

Indeed, the rumor is flawed from the outset. Samsung is a manufacturer of terminals and would not have much to do part manufacture of terminals, while that he is already engaged in several initiatives on the side of mobile software, including his own, represented initiative by Bada OS, not to mention his support for Tizen, new Linux Mobile. The manufacturer has rather a culture hardware and would to juggle between several platforms while he has never hesitated to take in each and the other licenses.

If this is Samsung, therefore...
RIM may present assets for a player who is not present or who wants to enter the mobile market. This is not for nothing that the names of Facebook and Amazon travel regularly while interest on the part of Microsoft is not impossible given the possible synergies with the professional sector, even if the Redmond Group should strengthen this aspect in Windows Phone in its next updates.

Asian manufacturers might also be interested where they seek to establish more markedly in the global mobile landscape. Shareholders, it holds its breath and expected the report to determine whether to install a true President of the Board of Directors in RIM... which could also be a President.

Once this redesign of endorsed branch, acquisition attempts should become more visible, which may not give time to the two co - CEO, Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis, to test the strength of their strategy.
