If the market has no lack of competition in the storage medium, some products attract our attention, because of more exotic characteristics irretrievably. In the case of the Kage K1 Series of pureSilicon manufacturer, it is question of haute voltige performance, for lovers of speed.


DSS Kage K1 SATA device boasts a ultra fine design of only 4.5 mm, operating in USB 3.0. The unit uses type Paoc NAND flash memory for very comfortable performance interface SATA 6 Gbps. Sequential read rates are advertised at 540 MB/s, against 520 MB/s sequential write. Random 4 K (read and write) performance range at 60,000 IOPS. This SSD will be available in several capacities: 100 GB, 200 GB and 400 GB. Its price is wish however very high, since it begins at about 750 euros.

The Kage K1 USB key is not to make pale figure, since in addition to his exemplary finesse (4.5 mm), it benefits with USB 3.0 for sequential speeds that can reach 400 MB/s. The key operates the type 2 x nm MLC flash memory. Several capabilities will be also marketed: 90 GB, 60 GB, 120 GB, 180 GB and 240 GB. Its rate will begin to about 180 euros.


Both products are marketed on the site of the manufacturer, with delivery expected in the first quarter of 2012.
