2011: new record year for Intel

Small update on the numbers of Intel on the last quarter of 2011 and the previous year in full. It works somewhat for the skier.

intel logoIntel has formalized its financial results for the fourth quarter of the year 2011, with a turnover of 13.9 billion (+ 21% on a year), with a gross margin rose by 0.7 points to 65.5%, for a net profit up 11% to $ 3.5 billion. And Yes, Intel still impresses as much. The sales increase is in part to the account of redemptions of McAfee and the German Infineon wireless division, representing the period of CA $ 1 billion.

However, the traditional divisions of Intel progress also, but a little less strong. Division PC Client is still 17% better at $ 9 billion, 8% for the Data Center division to 2.7 billion and 35% for Other Intel Architecture which depend on the solutions embedded representing 1.1 billion of revenue. On the other hand, sales of Atom processors are in free fall (-57%) to $ 167 million.

Is therefore time to accounts for the year 2011 as a whole, and Intel beats there also records, with a turnover of 54 billion (+ 24%) and a net profit of 12.9 billion (+ 13%). However, gross margin is slightly decreased by 3 points to 62.3%. Intel plans to achieve the same turnover last year, is $ 12.8 billion in the first quarter of 2012. The firm also intending to spend approximately 10.1 billion in R & D on the year (+ 21%) and invest $ 12.5 billion in 2012 (+ 16%) production units.
